HOW WE STOP

THE SPREAD OF COVID-19

  • + OVERVIEW

Part of our strategy to stop the spread of Covid-19 is to have additional expectations of our practitioners & our clients, & to put additional measures in place at our premise, facilities & within our treatment rooms.

    CONTACT US

  • + WHAT'S EXPECTED OF OUR PRACTITIONERS

In response to government guidelines & to adhere to the Covid-19 regulations produced by our professional governing associations:

    · We regularly get ourselves rapid lateral flow tested. Around 1 in 3 people have coronavirus without displaying any symptoms. Therefore, regular testing of our team will identify any positive cases earlier, facilitating our capacity to break the chain of transmission & protect our clients, each other, members of our household & our social bubble.

    · We wear clinical standard personal protective equipment (PPE) during your session. PPE is only effective when worn properly, put on & taken off safely & combined with hand hygiene (cleaning hands regularly & appropriately), respiratory hygiene ('catch it, bin it, kill it') & avoiding touching our face with our hands following standard infection prevention & control precautions.

    · We wash our hands &/or use sanitiser before, during & after your session.

    · We maintain respiratory hygiene before, during & after your session.

    · We maintain social distancing before & after your session.

    · We wear clean uniform & overalls, i.e. short sleeve tunics or short sleeve tops everyday & will change uniform &/or overalls if needed. Cuffs at the wrist become heavily contaminated & are likely to come into contact with clients, so wearing only short sleeve tunics or tops prevents the spread of any microorganisms including Covid-19.

    · We dispose PPE according to government guidelines. PPE should removed in an order that minimises the potential for cross contamination. PPE is removed in a systematic way before the clients leaves the treatment room i.e. gloves, then gown & then eye protection. After removing PPE, we wash or sanitise our hands.

  • + WHAT'S EXPECTED OF OUR CLIENTS

To continue to ensure the safety & wellbeing of our clients & our team we politely request our clients to cooperate in the following ways.

    · Clients are reqired to complete a "Pre-treatment Covid-19 Screening Form" within 24 hours prior to attending their appointment. The form is availble on our website, a copy is sent to clients by email or text to complete once an appointment has been made or clients can run through the form with their practitioner by virtual (telephone or video) communication.

    · Clients are requested but not required to take a rapid lateral flow test within 24 hours prior to attending their appointment. Local councils in England are offering rapid lateral flow tests to people who do not have symptoms. The test is free & results are provided in 30 minutes after taking the test.

    · Clients are requested to "Check-in" on arrival to their appointment by using the NHS Contact Tracing App & scanning our NHS QR code. The NHS Contact Tracing App is available to download onto mobile devices via Google Play or App Store. The NHS QR code is on display on our website & on posters at our premise & treatment rooms.

    · Clients are required to wear a face mask whilst attending their appointment. Face masks can be provided by us if needed. Wearing other PPE including eye-protection, gloves &/or protective overalls is at the discretion of our clients.

    · Clients are required to to wash their hands or use sanitiser upon arrival & on departure of their appontment. Washing facilities & sanitiser is available at our premise, our facilities & our treatment rooms.

    · Clients are requested to pay by card or other cashless method if possible, though cash payment is still permitted.

    · Clients are requested to arrive promptly for their appointment & leave promptly after their appointment. To adhere to government guidelines & maintain social distancing we are scheduling appointments at least an hour apart & we are not permitting clients to wait inside our premise before or after their treatment.

    · Clients are requested to bring a bottle of water for their refreshment.

  • + OUR PREMISE, FACILITIES & TREATMENT ROOMS

We routinely & continually have risk assessment & risk prevention action in place that ensures our clinic is a a safe environment for our clients & out team.

    · Our premise includes our private residence partly converted into healthcare business use & the facilities & treatment rooms within it. Our facilities include washrooms & toilets. Our treatment rooms are purpose built rooms to ensure delivery of confidential, safe & effective consultation, treatment & after-care advice to our clients.

    · Every non-porous surface considered to have the potential to be contaminated, whether in low traffic or high traffic areas, e.g. door bell, door handles, wash taps, therapy couches, sofa & seats, to name a few, is cleaned with anti-viral & anti-microbrial disinfectant before & after every client visit.

    · The necessity to use any porous material considered to have the potential to be contaminated, whether rarely or frequently used, has been assessed & either removed completely, replaced with more hygenic or disposable material or is washed & disinfected at high temperatures. E.g. We have removed decorative throws &/or pillows, we have replaced the use of towels to cover therapy couches with couch roll & we wash & replace the hand towels located in the wash rooms routinely.

    · Couch rolls are replaced before & after every visit.

    · Used PPE is disposed of seperately to the disposal of recycled or general waste, & kept secure until safe removal from the premise to prevent cross-contamination to our clients or team.

    · Disposable face masks are kept in hygenic containers at the entrance to the premise & within our treatment rooms. The use by dates of these are checked & new disposable face masks are stocked routinely.

    · Sanitising liquid, gel or foam is kept in dispensers at the entrance to the premise & within our treatment rooms. These are routinely replaced & topped up.

    · All rooms are ventilated with open windows. Air conditioning is not used to prevent the retention & circulation of airbourne micro-organisms.
